Giving Back: Gleaners Community Food Bank
Earlier this year, the MedMover team volunteered at Gleaner’s Community Food Bank. The goal was to spend some time together as a team and to give back as an organization to our community. We spent a day at Gleaner’s Taylor facility, helping to break down pallets of food and repacking them into individual packages for individual families.
Gleaner’s has provided much needed community services to Southeast Michigan since 1977 through collaboration, education, and innovative solutions. We are thankful for the opportunity to be a part of their mission to achieve a hunger-free community in southeast Michigan.
The activity took the better part of the day, and involved multiple teams working simultaneously. Our team was able to pack 9,000 pounds of food, which is equivalent to 7,200 meals for our neighbors!
Previous charitable outings have included packing toys for at-risk kids during Christmastime and other activities.
Our entire team of developers, designers, and product managers are passionate about giving back to our community. This allows our team to practice working together toward a common goal, and more importantly help those in need. Whether it’s people in the community or our customers, the MedMover team works hard to make sure everyone is taken care of.
